The Environmental Health and Pollution Management Programme (EHPMP) aims to strengthen theinstitutional capacity to manage and regulate mercury use in the Artisanal and Small-scale Gold Mining(ASGM) and unintentionally produced Persistent Organic Pollutants (uPOPS) in e-waste (electronicand electrical waste) in the Republics of Ghana, Senegal, Kenya, Zambia and the United Republic ofTanzania specifically. The country specific activities involving ASGM will be implemented in Tanzaniaand Ghana, while activities focused on e-waste will be implemented in Ghana, Zambia, Kenya andSenegal.

Cette composante soutiendra les initiatives prises par le gouvernement et les municipalités de Hann-Bel Air et de Dalifort, en tant que premières zones ciblées, et éventuellement d'autres municipalités de Dakar, pour établir des outils juridiques et institutionnels afin d'officialiser les systèmes de gestion des déchets et de promouvoir la réduction des usages, la réutilisation, le recyclage et le compostage.
